The National Lottery Community Fund WebsiteFunded by the National Lottery Community Fund we bought a new portable mobile defibrillator to increase our ability to support a larger group of members and provide coverage across multiple locations when our members play in various competitions, league and friendly matches.
To launch the new defibrillator we held a "Defibrillator Clinic" after our morning football session on 26th February, which was well attended and hosted by Phil Hutchings and our very own expert Dyal Singh. Phil and Dyal, who is a member of our group and a retired cardiac surgeon took us through the process of dealing with heart attacks and cardiac arrests and how to use CPR and the defibrillator in such situations. The session was even more poignant when one of our members, Paul Feeney, explained how a defibrillator saved his life when he had a cardiac arrest whilst playing walking football.
We thank the National Lottery Community Fund for their generous funding that made this possible.
