Kimberley Perrott Fundraiser & Memorial Day 21st October 2024

Ray Lewis23 Oct 2024 - 14:08

A day to raise funds and gather together to drift back in memory of our former friends

This was a special day to remember Kimberley Perrott and our former friends Fred Scholes, Lee Whitehead, Danny Adlington, Jackie Manning and Ron Kemp.
A big thank you to everyone for taking part, in which we raised £500 from the football session (£300 from player subs and £200 from the raffle) and a further £160 in donations.
Over 50 members turned out to play in a 6-team tournament. The Blue team ran out winners on 13 points, the Red team were runners up on 10 points and the Green team were third with 8 points.
Alan Dadley won the player of the tournament award and Bryce Taylor won the Kevin Perrott award for all round performances.
Stephen Twigg summed up the day, commenting: “Well done everybody. Good organisation and support coupled with some good footie. Excellent respect shown towards Kev and his family for their sad loss of Kimberley and our good old playing mates remembered fondly by all.”
Trudi Scholes commented: “What a lovely thing to do. Thank you from Fred's family xx.”
Kev Perrott said he was “Proud of my walking football mates, you did me proud today, fantastic” and continued “Thank you to everyone today you did my family and daughter proud, brilliant.”
Kev explained in the memorial programme, that this is the 19th year of the Kimberley Perrott Memorial Trust and during this time, they have raised over £25,000 for Asthma UK, with a further £660 added from this event. Just fantastic.
We would like to extend our thanks to Kev’s family for organising the raffle and presenting the awards, to Dee Badland for providing after match savouries and together with Kim Watkin for providing after match cakes and biscuits. Thanks to Cade Bend and Mike Maylon for keeping the scores. Thanks also to Kev’s sponsors – Colin and Nita Perrott, Premier Stores in Binley Woods, Marina Chip Shop on the London Road, On Your Toes Dance School and the One Stop in Binley Woods.
