Alwyn will be travelling to London on Wednesday 23rd April to find out if he has won an award for his contribution to women’s walking football in the Coventry and district area.
The Festival of Women’s Football Awards, celebrates women’s football from grassroots to the professional level and was created by Jeremy King, the co-owner and CEO of Festival of Media. For more information about Festival of Women's Awards click here
Nominated, by the Club’s women’s group, Alwyn has been entered into the Grassroots Coach of the Year category and has been shortlisted in a list of four people who have been selected by the judging panel from clubs throughout England.
This a tremendous accolade personally for Alwyn but it is also a honour for Coventry & District Walking Football Club for supporting Alwyn in establishing the first women’s walking football club in Coventry and the surrounding areas and shows the work we are doing as a club to bring sport to the generation of men who are 50+ and women 35+ under our banner of “age is no barrier to health & wellbeing”.
